Item Description
The company advertised this set of 17 in their 1897 catalog for thirty-five cents. Each is 7/8". Most have W&H backpaper while some have American Pepsin Gum backpaper. The one button missing from this group was titled "Great Eastern." Of the 16 that are here the following steamship lines are represented: American Line, Anchor Line, Cunard Line, French Line, Hamburg American Line, North German Lloyd, White Star Line. Row 3 button #2 has couple pinpoint gray spots on edge but otherwise a superb set, exceptionally clean and glossy. Rarely offered as a near set.
