Item Description
8x10" glossy photo shows all three players in uniform talking about baseball bat. Paper caption on reverse is dated March 5 titled "A Trio Of New-Comers Who May Bring Brooklyn Its First Pennant In 12 Years." Includes HOF'ers  Waite Hoyt, Chicago Cubs' slugger Hack Wilson, and Max Carey who is referred to as "New Pilot Of The Robins." Photo was taken at Robins' spring training camp at Clearwater, FL. Photo has lt. ripples to the touch but bright and glossy. Fine. When Max Carey became manager in 1932 the team was renamed the Brooklyn Dodgers and finished in third place for the season. Hack Wilson hit 23 home runs and Waite Hoyt had an E.R.A. of 7.76. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
