Item Description
This is not to be confused with the smaller size sign of 16x24" featuring the exact same design. The sign is huge and has been professionally framed and matted. Black wood frame is 41.5x59" w/plexiglass over cardboard mat w/opening of 36x54" showcasing the exceptional stiff paper sign. From 1950 and promotes the first Disney television show titled "One Hour In Wonderland" broadcast on NBC on Christmas Day of that year. The show was sponsored by Coke and served as a promo for the upcoming Alice In Wonderland film. Center text includes "Starring Famous Disney Characters And Guest Starring Edgar Bergen With Charlie McCarthy." Great border design featuring specialty art of many Disney characters along with Christmas theme images. This includes characters from Alice, Song of the South, Snow White, as well as Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Sign shows some aging and scattered handling wear. Small crease lines mostly only visible when viewed closely in addition to some minor scattered stain spots. As a whole, the sign has a stunning appearance with choice color and wonderful images. Technically Fine but displays Exc. as framed. Rare with only a few known examples and this is the first we have offered in our 45 years. By comparison, the much smaller and more common sign previously mentioned, was sold by us in 2009 for nearly $500. This huge sign is infinitely rarer and more much valuable.
