Item Description
1952 Popsicle premium ring for Major Mars. Box with their label has some creases but very clean. Instruction sheet is 2.5x3.5” opening in three panels w/order blank for additional rings plus detailed illustrated list of the ring parts and their uses. Lt. scattered wear as originally boxed, a few bends but Fine. The hard plastic ring has three-dimensional rocket-shaped top, complete w/keychain, designed w/”Crystal Clear Intensifier, Supersonic Whistle, Luminous Astro-Navigation Map, Secret Compartment.” The tiny map showing constellation Big Dipper inside ring top still glows brightly in the dark. There is an uncut four-panel bw film strip w/images titled “Major Mars, The Venutians, F80 Shooting Star, Flying Wing.” Other film scenes could be obtained via order form. Rocket fits on yellow base to form ring but would need glued (as many kids did) in order to stay in position. Also included are generic squares of light-sensitive paper to “Print” the images via sunlight exposure. There are 12 in uncut strip. Paper is no longer light sensitive. Ring and film strip are Mint as issued. Exceedingly rare 100% complete like this example. (A couple plastic ring pieces from a different set come along).
