Item Description
6x15" thin art-board has 5 7/8x13" India ink image area with two panels c.1948. Storyline has King Arthur using sword to battle criminals in modern times who are firing pistols at him as Flash whirls around in background watching action. Panel two has Arthur stumbling as gangsters move in with speed image of the Flash in background saying “King Arthur Stumbled! They’re Closing In For The Kill!”. Art was apparently slated for Flash Comics #106 but the series was canceled with issue #104 in February 1949. Blank margins have trace of lt. dust soil, both panels have tiny bit of whiteout which blends well. Image area will mat and frame to VF+ appearance. Nice example of Infantino’s early art.
