Item Description
First are pair of glossy snapshots 3.5x5.25" taken when Wallace visited York, PA during 1940 campaign. He is shown in courtroom #1 with microphones and in background is partial image of FDR large campaign poster. Prints were made in 1941 and apparently signed at time of a second visit when Wallace returned for York's Jefferson-Jackson Day Democratic banquet. He signed each "H A Wallace." One has .25" edge tear and faint creases with minor paper residue on reverse. Other is Exc. These come with news clippings about the event. Second is 5x7.25" glossy photo of young newsman Harry McLauglin with Wallace and Senator Claude Pepper from 1941. Reverse has ink notations and masking tape around edges. Photo has small nicks at bottom right corner. This is signed "Henry A Wallace" and "Claude Pepper." Comes with two news clippings. One about the event and another using the glossy photo for story about McLauglin's autograph collecting adventures and his being inducted into army. This photo is VG. From the Harry McLaughlin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
