Item Description
All are circa teens and 1920s. Thin art boards range in size from 11.25x15.25" to 13x16.25" with India ink image areas ranging in size from 7.25x10.5" to 9.5x12.25". All are signed in ink at bottom. Jokes include heavy set man trying to teach man how to box, boy being told to get a haircut, spoiled young man telling father "There Are Two Things I Cannot Resist. One Is Cigarettes, The Other Temptation", and battlefield scene with men ducking for cover as one looks at watch with caption "A Quarter To Seven Sir". Boards have some lt. dust soil with bit of lt. aging here and there, battlefield scene art has some whiteout as applied by the artist. Problems are not major and art will mat and frame to near Fine appearance overall. Wonderful ink and brush work by one of the top British cartoonists of the time.
