Item Description
Group consists on one large two sided piece, and five additional smaller pieces. All are unsigned and in pencil. 26x27.5" high quality double sided wood frame has 11.5x13" opening on one side with image of nude female curled up holding a globe. The reverse side has 16.75x18" opening with image of nude female in one corner holding skeleton head and female in opposite corner dressed like an angel. Second frame is 14.5x25.75" with three different openings, each measuring 4.75x7". Left and right sides each feature different pose of girl wearing flowing gown while center image is close-up of woman with earrings and snow capped mountains in background. Last two originals are loose and include 3" tall image of Madonna-type holding baby and 2.75" tall image of man's head and neck. The largest framed original has some creasing and vertical tear running through most of side of largest image along with a few small cellophane tape repairs which have yellowed with age. Good. Three pieces in second frame are a bit aged, otherwise near Exc. Last two loose pieces have a few light handling creases but are Fine. Unsigned group comes with nice 2.75x6.25" check handwritten in fountain pen dated September 28, 1953 made out to cash for fifteen dollars with signature "Hannes Bok". Check has been canceled, otherwise Exc. Bok (1914-1964) was an artist/author and is noted for his wonderful covers and interior illustrations for pulp magazines. Nice cross section of Bok art over the years with five ready for display.
