Item Description
18x22 thick die-cut cardboard w/vertical fold at center to allow for upright display without the need of an easel. This is the earliest known UK cardboard display produced to promote the Beatles, manufactured in Aug. of 1963 and marked as such in the lower left corner "Printed In England A1104/863." Text done in white and bright florescent colors reads "Here They Are-The Fabulous Beatles/EMI The Greatest Recording Organisation In The World." Large attached band photo surrounded by florescent orange border makes the display a visual delight. A slight variation of this display exists, but that has three panels and a different photo. This display has only two panels, a third panel to the right of the photo panel has been removed, but this was done on all examples for unknown reasons, possibly by the distributor. Regardless, only a handful of this rare display exists, all w/the third panel removed. This in no way effects its appearance for display and remains very impressive. Small trace of edge wear. Exc. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
