Item Description
1934. 4.5” long nicely illustrated cardboard box contains watch with 1.25” dia. chromed metal case and version with metal link band as opposed to leather. Features same illustration on lid and inside lid of Practical Pig building his brick house with inset image of The Big Bad Wolf. Rest of box is red brick design. This same box was used for the Pigs pocket watch but is marked at lower right corner of lid “Pocket $1.50” whereas this is designated “Wrist $2.95.” Complete w/red brick insert to hold the watch. This is VF w/just lt. wear. The box has obvious wear but is complete. Hinged lid is detached. Front side panel of lid is loose and in two pieces. Dust soiling. As is just Fair but could be reconstructed. Includes VF guarantee paper. Dial features side portrait of the Wolf at center and above him are the Three Little Pigs. Has five link band (missing three links but could be replaced using any Ingersoll of the time period) as well at the two decorative links featuring Wolf on one and Pigs on the other. These both have some black paint accents remaining. Band has small traces of luster loss but case retains near full, bright luster. Watch is overwound and missing the tiny, generic black second hand, again this could be replaced. Despite these defects, the dial remains totally bright and clean with full, strong color. Band Fine, case & dial are Exc. One of the rarest and most sought after Disney timepieces, very rare as boxed. The last boxed watch we offered (in higher grade) sold for $3,858.
