Item Description
8x10" original glossy still for "The Old-Fashioned Way" Paramount Picture shows him in costume with his nose being squeezed by co-star Baby LeRoy. Upper left has bold 3.75" blue fountain pen ink inscription in clear area "Best Wishes Always-W.C. Fields". Emulsion of photo has yellowed a bit with age and photo has a few barely noticeable lt. handling creases just visible in reflected light. VF+ appearance with Exc. autograph. Fields played the Great McGonigle, the boisterous actor-manager of a traveling theater group that never has enough money and is always just one step ahead of the law. Fields had a reputation of not liking children which makes this photo all that more interesting as he doesn't seem to mind having his nose squeezed by his co-star who is sitting on his lap with Field's arm around him. As nice a W.C. Fields autograph as you will find. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
