Item Description
10.5x12.5" sheet of animation paper dated "27 Feb '67" has five ink images of Zandor and five ink images of his "Mole Ship" including bore-ray gun at nose for tunneling underground. All text is in ink. Zandor was the show's original title which was changed to "The Herculoids". The Hanna-Barbera Saturday animated series debuted Sept. 9, 1967 and had 18 original episodes and ended its run on Sept. 6, 1969. The series was created by Alex Toth and Zandor, voiced by Mike Road, was the protector of Amzot/Quasar. Leader of the Herculoids. The Mole Men appeared in episode #5. Art is signed in ink at lower left "Alex Toth" and is a wonderful example of Toth's ink work. Sheet has a few white out corrections on two figures and has some lt. creasing and dust soil. Upper left corner tip is missing 3" piece and top edge has a few tiny tears. Image area will frame to near Exc. appearance. Great for display.
