Item Description
Shrink wrapped 9x12" sheet of art paper has wonderful ink and marker color art of Batman and Robin standing with their shadows against brick wall. Art is signed at lower left "Sheldon 'Shelly' Moldoff". Bright and NM. Shelly Moldoff began his career with Vin Sullivan at DC Comics in 1936 and was one of Bob Kane's first assistants on Batman in 1939. In 1940 he created both the Black Pirate and Hawkman for DC and in 1953 he became one of the lead artists on the Batman comic book along with Dick Sprang and Win Mortimer, which he drew for the next 14 years with his art being inked by Charles Paris. He went on to animation, story boarding Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse and did comics for restaurant chains including Big Boy and Burger King. A classic image. Comes with COA from Mark Wilson dated September 25, 1995.
