9x12.25" hard cover celebrating "1859 A Full Century Of Baseball In Baltimore 1959" book self-published by James Bready is complete with dust wrapper designed like wooden fence with knothole punched out revealing image of playing field with game in progress. Reverse side of dust wrapper reprints newspaper articles involving various Baltimore teams. Title page is autographed in blue ballpoint pen "To F. Vernon Cynarowsky JR. - Specialist In Printing, In Photography, In Good Deeds - A Real Showman, In That Large And Very Empty Armory, And A Fellow Rooter For Baltimore's Home Team. May You Not Have Long To Wait, Before You Photograph That Stirring Scene, A Genuine Memorial Stadium Baseball Pennant Flag Raising. With Warmest Regards, Jim Bready." The author has also added "Yea, Orioles! Yea, Vern!" at the upper right. Book is extensively illustrated with 68 pages from Baltimore's first ball game through eight leagues, eight ball parks and mascots like "Lord Baltimore", "Terrapins", and "Orioles." Book includes two pages on Babe Ruth and two pages on Negro League baseball in Baltimore including photos of Roy Campanella and Connie Johnson. Dust wrapper has some wear around edges with a few small tears. Book itself is Exc. Omega lighter has Kent Cigarettes logo on one side while reverse side is customized with decal (as issued) as a team souvenir with Oriole saying "We're Going To Win - Birds Baltimore Orioles." c. 1950's. Japan. Lighter has scattered lt. wear and needs a flint to spark. Fine.
