Item Description
22x28" cardboard for event held August 30, 1968 at Tantilla Gardens in Richmond, VA. Lower right side has nice photos of Conley along with photos of Stacy Henry & The Majestics and Jackie "Moms" Mosby. Text also mentions "Impacts QT". Poster has some aging but overall VF. Conley (1946-2003) first recorded in 1959 as the lead singer of Arthur & The Corvets. Conley met Otis Redding in 1967 and Redding asked him to record a new version of "I'm A Lonely Stranger" which was only the second release on Redding's label Jotis Records. Together they rewrote the Sam Cooke song "Yeah Man" into "Sweet Soul Music" which was released on same label. The song reached #2 on the U.S. charts and #10 across Europe. The record sold over a million copies and was awarded a gold record.
