Item Description
28.5" tall with felt initials on front “M.C.R.R. Canada” has 6.5" tall felt patch in design of maple leaf on left arm with text “CSDIV”. Just above this is “New York Central Lines” stitched fabric on felt patch. The team dates back to the 1860s and players were actual railroad workers. The railroad itself operated in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois and the Province of Ontario in Canada. Around 1867 it began operation as part of the New York Central Railroad. Jersey has no number on the back as issued. Trace of lt. aging, most noticeable around collar area, center left side of front has tiny hole but jersey otherwise has Near Exc. appearance. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
