Item Description
Three sheets, ranging in size from 5.75x8.25" to 8x8 3/8" sent shortly after Lennon’s death on December 8, 1980. Includes: President Jimmy Carter with text including “It Is Especially Poignant That John Lennon Has Died By Violence, Though He Had Long Campaigned For Peace”, Yoko Ono’s younger brother including text “He Said He Would Leave For New York Tomorrow And Urged His Sister To Return To Japan And Lead A Peaceful Life”, and four paragraphs including text “There Had Been Talk That They Might Get Together Again-At Least Once, But That’s Not Going To Happen Now” referring to Beatles breakup. Top and bottom edges have small tear lines due to removal from teletype machine at the time, main text of all three is VF. Historical trio that could be framed with a photo for a nice memorial presentation.
