Item Description
1958. 9" x 22.5" x 6.25" deep "Baby Barry" cardboard box holds 20" high quality doll with realistic molded vinyl head depicting Kelly as sad clown with plastic eyes and rooted life-like hair on sides and back of head. Top of head is bald as made. Hands are vinyl. Stuffed body wears multi-piece detailed outfit including felt jacket, vest and pants, cloth shirt with separate tie. Attached to the pants are a pair of vinyl suspenders. Pants have pair of patches on front as made. Has stitched tag on left shoulder. Great likeness to the clown character created by Kelly who toured w/various circuses incl. Ringling Bros. Upon retiring from the circus in 1956, he appeared in various media incl. film, television and clubs. Box has a few lt. edge creases here and there with some lt. aging. Doll is missing hat but otherwise N. Mint. As nice as they come. Exceptional quality with incredible detail.
