Item Description
Thermocap is 6.25" diameter, 3.75" tall aluminum dome with metal socket to hold bulb (not included) on top, and attached original cord with plug. Scattered surface crazing, one side has two dents. Original cord has heavy wear near plug. Comes with 6.5" diameter, 6.75" tall, thin fiberboard mounting with "THERMOCAP" name on front along with patent date of Sept. 22, 1925. Made by Allied Merke Institutes, Inc. NY. Booklet is 6x9" soft cover titled "The New Way to Make Hair Grow" with 30 pgs. c. 1923. Booklet contains text explaining use of product along with numerous photos of people using Thermocap including well-dressed man in living room reading magazine with cap on, smiling pretty girl with cap on, before and after photos, and text endorsements from around the country. Covers have dust soil, back cover has diagram in pencil. Center page has pulled loose from spine which has a bit of rust at both staples. Book overall VG. Interesting concept.
