Item Description
12-5/8" dia. metal "stamper" from the 1981 posthumous release "The Legend Of A King," this being from Side 2 of the album. Part of a pair, this is the metal plate used to press the actual records at the pressing plant. These metal stampers are created from the lacquers which are coated with silver and electroplated to make the hard nickel metal plates. These plates are a "negative image" of the record in that the grooves of the record are raised in this instance. These "stampers" are then used to create "mothers" which are metal versions of the actual record. If desired, "stamper" could be played, though music plays backwards. Lt. wear from use but displays Exc.
