Item Description
7/8” without backpaper likely as issued. Shows American flag with word “Member” below. The “Million Acre” reference is our export amount during the war years of 1917-1918. Herbert Hoover headed the government administration which formed a $50,000,000 corporation with all the stock held by the Federal Government to buy and sell wheat at all the principal terminals. The price-fixing board which represented farmers, grain men and milling companies was established in Aug., 1917 to stabilize the price of wheat and lower the price of bread. Button is Exc. and displays Mint. Only example we’ve seen.
