Item Description
8x10” vintage bw publicity still shows noted horror actor Lugosi in a far less menacing situation, showing his stamp collection to a female admirer. Lugosi’s ever-present cigar is in hand. ©1940 Universal Pictures Co., Inc. From a series of publicity stills promoting Universal’s 1940 science fiction film “Black Friday” which starred both Lugosi and Boris Karloff. Several photos of the pair in peaceful and often humorous situations were shopped around to promote the film. Back of photo has a typed sheet noted Lugosi's interest in more maudlin-themed stamps dealing with war, pestilence, disaster and unemployment. Handling wear with .25” tear along right side margin. Could be matted for an Exc. display. From the Morry Greener Collection.
