Item Description
Hake #2035. Only 7,500 of these 2” brass medals were struck. On the obverse, Truman is profiled in raised relief while on the reverse is a female goddess-like figure with one hand raised and other hand holding olive branch. The inscription is “Harry S. Truman/Inaugurated/President Of The United States January 20, 1949.” The finish on these medals is noted as being susceptible to spotting but this example is extremely clean without spotting although just 4 tiny dots of rubbed finish on his cheek on the obverse and on the reverse just a few exceedingly tiny dots without luster around the upper rim edge. Condition exceeds all but 1 or 2 examples we have seen over the years.
