Item Description
11.25x12.5” frame contains matted full color print of “The White Queen, The Red Queen And Alice” by Dorothy Lake Gregory who has signed in pencil, adding print title below image. Art does indeed show Alice sitting with a crown between the Good White Queen and the Bad Red Queen with animals surrounding the edges, the rabbit guarding “To Morrow’s Jam” and other sticking his head into “Yesterdays Jam.” Lake Gregory, known as an illustrator, illustrating over 20 books and magazines and exhibited her work at the National Academy of Design, The Museum of Modern Art and The Art Institute of Chicago, winning many awards and prizes. Her work is displayed to this day in The Boston Museum of Fine Art and The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. c. 1940s. Lightly aged but Exc. display as matted. Our last example of a framed late Gregory lithograph sold for $2,295. Comes with Hake's COA.
