15.75” dia. translucent dark red vinyl for Programs 118-119, the first and second episodes of “The Invisible Man” storyline which were initially broadcast Nov. 11, 13, 1940. Radio program began Feb., 1940 as a three-times-a-week radio serial and was discontinued in Mar., 1942. Show was revived due to fan demand in Aug., 1942 and continued until Feb., 1949. Bud Collyer starred as the voice of Superman. Paper labels have classic image of Superman breaking chains with “Superman” comic book title logo behind him. Sound Studios of New York, Inc. name appears on label as they were the makers of disc, produced by Western Electric Co. 33-1/3 rpm. Labels show lt. trace of wear from use and each side has various penciled/ink stamped dates from 1941-1942. Exc. Comes with original 16x16” “Sound Studios of New York Incorporated Transcription Headquarters” sleeve. Sleeve has addresses of Sound Studios of New York recording studios and sales offices. Sleeve has ring wear and aging at corners/margins with tears at die-cut circle center. Fine.
