Item Description
5x15x6.5" deep R. W. Kerr Plastic Co. full case shipping carton containing a dozen 4-7/8" tall statues of "Mary Marvel." Statues are made of an unknown blend of resin-like materials. Fawcett premium made by Kerr in 1946. Kerr also made line of Marvel Family plastic statuettes and Captain Marvel Jr. statues in the same manner as the Mary Marvel statues offered here. Base reads "Mary Marvel." Version w/dark red hair, yellow chest emblem and belt. Two figures are totally missing Kerr base decals on undersides, 10 others have typical flaking/wear and remain anywhere from 40-95% complete w/average being about 80%. All remain structurally sound and bright and fresh appearances, however, one has noteable stress lines on backs of boots, another has .25" sliver chip from back of boot which is not readily visible when viewed straight on. Eight others have 1 or 2 exceedingly minor stress lines, typically .25" or less on boots. Two remain N. Mint as made. All figures retain a N. Mint appearance from fronts w/noted defects, mostly only noticeable upon close inspection. Carton is marked "From R. W. Kerr Plastic Co. Molders And Fabricators - Hastings, Nebr." This has been written over in black marker "Mary" w/additional marker notations on top flaps. Other side has unobstructed Kerr information. 3x4" moisture stain in upper left corner of this side. Box remains structurally sound and VG/Fine. While carton is rather non-descript in appearance, it is the only example we've offered in our 42 years. We have sold individual Mary Marvel figures in the past for $575 to as much as $1300. The ultimate item for the serious Marvel Family completist.
