Item Description
12x12" full die-cut stiff cardboard store display for glow-in-the-dark pocket knife by Camillus Cutlery Co. Display has Dick Tracy art image at left and bw image of knife w/all special features visible. Pair of inset images show boys using special features. Display holds eleven of 12 3.5" long pocket knives w/glow grips. Six feature "Dick Tracy And Junior" text and include either red or blue portraits of Tracy and Junior. Five feature Tracy and B.O. Plenty text and feature either red or blue portraits of them. Reverse of each knife has arrow designs pointing upward w/text "Crimestopper Whistle" and "Clue Detector." Whistle is about 2" long and folds out. Clue Detector is .75" plastic magnifying glass that folds out from left side. 2.5" long blade is marked w/maker's name "Camco." Knife and included red gimp cord (usually missing) are essentially Mint although as w/all examples, by the small brass rivet on front grip is a tiny crack barely showing above and below. Usually as made as all 4 rivets have this problem so these examples are much better than most and knives are as nice as can be found. c. 1950s. Display has edge wear, mostly at corners w/heavy 3/8" crease to die-cut area at top right. Fine. Comes w/original but non-descript well worn box.
