Item Description
10.75x14.5" sheet of illustration paper has pen and ink/mixed media specialty art by noted fantasy artist best known for his comic book work for Marvel Comics in the 1970s, providing art for Conan the Barbarian and other sword and sorcery titles. Forest scene shows Howard the Duck and his girlfriend Beverly Switzler in the outfits they wore in the first issue of "Howard Duck" comic book in Jan., 1976. Howard is wearing a horned Viking helmet and loincloth while smoking his cigar and washing Beverly's chain mail bikini top as she sits topless at water's edge. Classic character depictions in Howard's comic book career when both were prisoners of Pro-Rata, a mad financial wizard in a fantastical satire. Art is signed by Brunner in lower left and dated "'78" and was likely done on the convention circuit at that time. Lt. dust soiling margins but if matted and framed would display Mint. Extremely high quality, the perfect Howard the Duck specialty art.
