8.5x11" spiral-bound booklet prepared by the Market Research Department of Fawcett Publications, Inc. Jan., 1944. Entitled "Who Reads The Magazine Comics?," cover shows large, diverse group of children and adults reading giant issue of "Captain Marvel Adventures" #33 comic book. Booklet has specialty strip in red/bw showing Captain Marvel visiting Fawcett's Advertising Director, holding "Captain Marvel Adventures" and "Whiz Comics" comic books, mentioning Captain Marvel Clubs and asking just who reads comic books? Booklet goes on to publish survey showing 72% of homes at the time boasted comic book readers. Survey is then further broken down into age groups, sexes and by those in the Armed Forces; averages of comic books read per month; economic status of readers; education; employment, etc. Captain Marvel appears on every other page, on which statistics are shown in chart/graph format. Some great scenes show his filling out surveys, talking with rich man and working man and watching youths trade comic books. There are also some mentions of Captain Marvel used in advertising food, sporting goods, soap, etc. Amazingly detailed information presented in a marvelous manner. Light aging/handling wear, mainly to covers, Fine. Interior pages have a few tears along bottom of binding, but are for the most part Exc.-N. Mint. Extremely limited distribution.
