Item Description
Lot of two. 8x10". 1939. Photos are of paintings that hung at WXYZ Detroit radio station where Lone Ranger debuted. Bottom left corner of each reads "Copyright 1939 By The Lone Ranger Inc." Captions at lower right read "The Lone Ranger Leads The Charge/Tonto Finds The Clue." These promotional photos were distributed to fans and press during the early days of the radio show when the not-so-photogenic Earle Graser was the radio voice of The Lone Ranger. Press photos became more abundant when Brace Beemer took over the role in April, 1941. These are from the files of George Trendle, owner of the Lone Ranger name and rights. Both photos have minor handling wear. VF. Both are rare and the only examples we've seen in our 42 years.
