8x10.25" 67-page hardcover version by Frederic A. Stokes Co. ©1904. This is the first book in the Stokes hardcover series. Written and illustrated by Buster Brown and Yellow Kid creator R.F. Outcault, title page noting 53 illustrations. Bw illustrations show Buster and Tige encountering various different countries' cultures including great scene showing Buster and Tige beside French policeman with caption "A John Darms." Other interesting images show the pair in Napoleon's tomb, admiring the famed Venus de Milo statue, great nautical scene showing the "Kronprinz Wilhelm" and a humorous image showing Buster holding up large sign which reads "Resolved! That I Will Be Kind To Europe While I Am There And Not Play A Joke On Any Of The Crowned Heads. The Doctor Says I Need Rest And Variety. Buster Brown." Cloth-bound hardcover shows aging and wear. Pages have scattered and moderate aging. VG/Fine overall. Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide value Good=$200; Fine=$700. Listed as rare in the guide. Great design.
