Item Description
Large sheet 12.25x19" with two faint fold lines probably as issued in 1898 plus one very faint 4" diagonal corner crease. Issued by Otto Young & Co. of Chicago showing 25 different "Quadruple Plate" metal pieces all with War/Maine/Cuba/Dewey themes and including trays, flasks, cigar jar, match holders, smoking sets and various types of boxes. Wonderful promotional text. Top two lines read: "A Triumphant Line Of Novelties!/Patriotic Momentos!/Useful Trinkets!/Capital Keepsakes." Text at bottom reads in part "Novelties For The Nation! Remember The Eagle Is Screaming! Patriotism Is Surging Like A Tide Across The Land!! Hence, These Timely Goods Sell On Sight!!! They Are Truly Dazzling Beauties Of The Metal Art!!!!" Reverse is blank except for center area picturing and promoting a non-war related pressed glass claret pitcher. A great and graphic display of 1898 patriotic collectibles. Only example we've seen in our 42 years. Clean and Exc.
