Item Description
Lot of 3. First is 11x14" Bristol board with 9x12" print of Babe attached. Bold felt tip pen signature in upper left reads "To Bishop Fulton J. Shean (Sheen)/Best Wishes Mrs. Babe Ruth." Claire Ruth, Babe's second wife and widow was very loyal to his memory. The Yankees took very good care of her, inviting her to all important Yankee events. This particular lithograph was produced after Ruth's death (©1966) and Mrs. Ruth would sign and send these to various fans of the Babe. Bishop Sheen was a very famous Catholic personality and writer. Back of print gives bio with lengthy list of Babe's career stats. VF. Lot also includes 3.25x5.5" fold-over with image/text of Babe and his death. Issued by "Back To God Mission Society" with strong religious text. c. 1950s. Age toned. VG. Last is 4x6" "Babe Ruth Boys Club Member" application sponsored by Esso. Lower portion is "Contest Coupon" with various Babe Ruth-related prizes. Center of coupon pictures small replica of "Charter Member" baseball pin. Staple marks at top. Corner bend. Still VF.
