Item Description
Lot of two items, a 1.5" celluloid button and a 1.25" metal badge. Both have initials "LLLL" at top and both read at bottom "Authorized By The U.S. Secretary Of War." Initials stand for the group which cut spruce timber, for war planes, known as Loyal Legion of Lumbermen And Loggers. The pinback shows a bi-plane and ship encircled by trees. Outer edge of the button has fairly dark stain but it blends well with the red and blue colors. No backpaper we believe as issued and with a fairly heavy layer of oxidation on the metal back. The brass duplicates the cello image with small differences. Both pieces have small illustration of axe and two-man saw at bottom. The cello button is Scarce and the metal badge is Rare.
