Item Description
Five 10x12" sheets of animation paper done in lead pencil with additional colored pencil accents. Drawing #31 has image area measuring 4.25x5.75" and shows caricature of Cab Calloway complete with large smile and wild hair. Drawing #424 has 2 image areas, measuring 2x4" showing a member of Cab's band with trombone, the other measuring 3x5" and showing Laurel & Hardy with instruments. Drawing #349 has image area measuring 3.5x4.5" and showing another 2 members of Cab's band, on trombone and sax. Drawing #268 has image area measuring 3.25x6" showing large single image of member of Cab's band playing trumpet. Drawing #444 has comprised image area measuring 5.5x5.75" and showing 3 members of Cab's band, on clarinet, sax, last clapping. Scattered production notations. From 1938 Silly Symphony. These 5 sheets make up large band scene when overlayed one on top of the other. Light handling and aging but sheets remain clean and art is Exc.
