Item Description
Spurred by his success with "Uncle Wiggily's Adventures" (see previous items #1561-1563), Campbell created a series of his own comic strips in the early 1930s. 5.5x14.25" "Paddy The Pup" strip has 4-panel cartoon featuring Paddy encountering duck in cage outside butcher shop. 6x14.25" "Dinky Ducklings" strip with 4-panel story dealing with 2 ducks chasing bug into tree, shaking tree which has birds nest causing mother bird to yell "Cut That Out Or You'll Scramble The Eggs." Oddly enough, white duck wears sailor's cap. 5.75x15.25" "Izzy Humbug" strip has Tom Cat and bug discussing the scraggly appearance of Tom's fur and going to store marked "Furs Re-Modeled." All strips are done in bw pen and ink, each signed by Campbell in last panel. Varying degrees of moisture staining along left-hand margins. For most part, art areas remain clean and Exc.
