Item Description
10.5x19x6" deep vinyl case with carrying handle made as an accessory for the 3" Batman figures by Ideal. ©1966 NPP Inc. Re-tooled Captain Action piece depicts the outside of the Batcave and front features large batsymbol image along with Batman and Robin who is in the Batmobile. On the right side is a "Detour" sign and this is die-cut opening which folds down so it could be used as a secret entrance for Batmobile. Case opens to reveal colorful detailed Batcave interior including thin molded vacuform plastic panel covering entire inside back wall as well as part of the floor featuring raised computers and equipment. An additional 4x6" plastic computer accessory piece attached to inside of front lid. Produced in 2 color variations, one having paler and warm colors, this is brighter version with bluish-green color. Two variations exist, one with vacuform Batmobile, another never produced with Batmobile. This is version without Batmobile. Used to store figures and as playset. Original 3x3.5" store tag attached which is almost never found. Tag features bw factory promo image. A few small scattered splits to vinyl which is typical of playsets of this nature and color rubs at corners and peaks. Scattered light wear at "Detour" area with original string still attached. Still bright and clean. VF appearance. From the Craig Warren Collection.
