Item Description
First is c. 1896 ribbon badge 6.5" tall with 1.75" double-sided cello. Ribbon reads "Philadelphia Anti-Cobden Club." This was GOP club opposed to the principles of an Englishman who advocated "Free Trade." Front shows real photo of McKinley. Reverse shows David Martin, head of the GOP in Philadelphia. Second item is ribbon badge "1898 Delegate" with Martin real photo on front and back reads "For State Senator Hon. David Martin Eighth District, Pennsylvania." Photo bit faded. Tiny 1/8" split top left edge. Totally clean. Rare. Third is W&H 7/8" lapel stud likely from his 1898 campaign and reading "Hon. David Martin." Rare and N. Mint. Martin later became Secretary of the Commonwealth.
