Item Description
4.25x4.5x11.5" box contains pair of size 4-1/2 slip-on Batman sneakers. Made by Randolph Mfg. Co. Inc. c. 1966. Box has original 2.25x4" tag which is not attached to sneakers. Tag has large facial image of Batman with name on cape. Back has "Batman Code!" which reads "Be Honest, Play Fair, Obey The Law." Shoes were produced in low and high-tops. Offered here are low-tops. Shoes have image of Batman running toward viewer printed on insole of shoe. Also, Batsymbol with "Batman" name is depicted. 1.25" canvas decal on tongue of shoe depicts same image from insole. Never worn, old store stock, Mint as issued. Extremely graphic box features several nice images and cut-outs. Side panel has Batman fighting 5 villains with characteristic sound effects printed. Batman is wearing Batman sneakers. Box's other side panel has image of Batman with word balloon that reads "Put On This Mask And Become Batman The Caped Crusader." Box side has cut-out mask that was to be cut out and have string attached. Uncut. Lid has image of Batman and Robin swinging down on bat ropes, Batman again in Batman sneakers and a large image of "Free Batman Ring With Every Pair." Sneakers come with matching plastic ring with generic Batsymbol. Also comes with red plastic Vari-Vue flicker/flasher Batman ring. Bottom of box has cut-out badge that reads "Charter Member Randy Batman Club" which has nice image of Batman and Robin. Uncut. Shoes also come with 3.25x8-3/8" insert advertising 7x15" Batman and Robin posters. Insert is aged but unused with 1.5" crease in upper right-hand corner. VF/Exc. Extremely rare as consignor has only seen this 1 example of this insert. Box shows light wear to corners and edges with slight warping and creases. Box remains clean and tight, structurally sound and Fine. From the Craig Warren Collection.
