Item Description
Two boxed sets, both c. 1955 and complete. First is "Artcraft Magicpaint With Water Pictures." 9.5x12.5x1" deep box. Set consists of four thick cardboard sheets with punch-out pieces entirely covered by tiny paint dots which were activated by wetting a brush and painting over the pictures turning them into full color. One sheet is portrait picture of Davy Crockett while the others are punch-out pieces to form "Frontierland" stockade and teepees. Includes instruction sheet. Some of the punch-out pieces are loose from perforations but set remains unused and N. Mint. Box has scattered trace of aging and edge wear. Tight, Fine. Second is "Paint Set With Fun-To-Color Pictures." Transogram. 11.5x15.5x1.5" deep box contains figural paint tablets including Davy and an Indian, punch-out stockade pallete, brush, glossy photo of Davy as Fess Parker, color wheel sheet and 4 different Davy pictures to be colored. The six paper pieces have scattered wear from handling with small margin tears. Set also came with 3 plastic jars of poster paint, the bottoms of the jars remain but lids were removed and paint was discarded. A few of the tablets show small bit of use. Contents Fine. Box lid worn with 2" edge split that includes 1" piece that has been re-taped. VG. Scarce set.
