Item Description
8.5" long tin litho car by MS, Japan c. late 1950s. Nicely designed car is a "Chrysler" with "Highway Patrol" emblem repeated on 3 sides and name appears on hood. Includes illustrations at windows of two officers and on passenger side is exact likeness of Chief Dan Mathews portrayed by Broderick Crawford. Each side window has separate die-cut tin attachment depicting arms of an officer and Chief Mathews holds a gun. Car works and when friction mechanism is activated, a siren noise is produced and the die-cut arms move up and down as if firing. Luster loss to front and back bumper. A few minor pinpoint spots of oxidation but car still retains a bright and glossy, Exc. appearance. Scarce toy with great design.
