Item Description
2x7.25x6.75" tall plastic hinged kit c. 1950s. Front has embossed image w/Space Patrol text. 1.75" split in upper corner w/old glue repair. One hinge pin missing. Inside lid has embossed "International Morse Code." Kit handle is rocket-shaped flashlight. Not working. .25x1/8" break by flashlight on/off button. Back of kit has compass w/name of planets of the Solar System on inner circle. Center of compass reads "Sun." Box has two removable drawers that hold generic band-aids, gauze, adhesive tape. Lower compartments holds four 1.25x1.5x1.75" empty "Space Emergency Rations" boxes. Two yellow, two blue. Text on boxes include "Approved By Space Patrol/For Emergency Use Only/Space Patrol Emergency Kit Ration Container/Container For Dry Cereals/Dry Fruits/Sugar Cubes/Chocolate/Use Sparingly And For Emergencies Only." Boxes show little to no wear and are empty as issued. Kit also contains two 1.25" dia. by 2" tall glass bottles w/plastic lids. Each has different label reading "Cosmic Ray Pills/Space Sickness Pills." Back of labels give same directions "Take One Before And After Each Space Trip Or One Every Two Hours While In Space/Ingredients, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Flavors And Artificial Coloring." Each bottle contains small amount of residue from candy once contained in them. Bottles are o/w Fine. Even w/these mentioned issues, a rare item. Only second we've ever offered. The first w/original contents. Rare and Fine.
