Item Description
15x26x3.25" deep cardboard shipping carton contains complete Sears exclusive Batman Puppet Theatre by Ideal, ©1966 NPP, Inc. Box is unmarked and shows obvious wear w/large areas of moisture staining. VG. Contents include - four-piece die-cut corrugated cardboard theatre for assembly, as well as three bagged hand puppets - Batman, Robin and The Joker -  and instruction sheet. Both the theatre set and Joker puppet were only available through this Sears set. Puppets are each 10" tall; Batman and Robin have vinyl bodies while Joker has printed fabric body. Each has soft vinyl head. Each is also packaged w/cardboard inserts present and in their original plastic bags, which were sealed w/tape. This has since dried and loosened, but puppets remain unused and NM. Cardboard theatre pieces remain unused, w/almost no bends along the designed areas (Gotham City bkg. piece folded along one perforated line and a few creases to die-cut edge pieces to "Batman Puppet Theatre" marquee and "floor" piece) w/a number of tab slots remaining unpunched. Cardboard has some lt., even aging and scattered corner tip wear, but remains VF to Exc. Instruction sheet has some insect damage along top edge and at bottom w/a few tiny holes, but Fine overall. One of the most coveted 1966 Batman items and also one of the rarest. Few complete examples exist, and this is among the nicest and the only complete example we've offered in our 57 years. No serious Batman collection is complete without this coveted piece.
