Item Description
Oversized Cromalin proof card w/blank back for Kenner action figure. Fan Club offer w/card noting "Free Comic Book" that would be issued w/packaged figure. Top margin has handwritten "Correct Blue" notation (w/scribbled out text at upper right, to right of "Hawkman" name) as the actual process of proof reading, editing, corrections and approvals at Kenner was done using these Cromalin (a DuPont trade name) proof cards. Cromalin refers to the material the image is printed on; a high-gloss photo paper which provides an almost textured effect from the four-color printing process. It yields a more vibrant image than packaging or cardstock. Cromalin proof cards are extremely rare, w/typically only one or sometimes two produced for this purpose. Archival case.
