Item Description
Large 21.25x27.75" frame contains unevenly trimmed sheet of stiff paper that has been double-matted to 15.75x21.5". Mixed media original art by Theodore Geisel (1904-1991) - aka Dr. Seuss - features castaway couple clinging to angry whale as woman asks "Well... Do You Still Insist It's An Island?" Man's reply has been cut off at right as trimmed. 1940s. Woman's word balloon has some white correction fluid touch-ups and sheet has obviously aged, now being brown in color. Sheet shows wear w/heavy crease at center breaking paint on whale's body. VG overall but still nice for display as double-matted and framed. From the Estate of animator and director T. Hee.
