Item Description
8x9.25" sheet of animation paper has pencil/blue pencil original art depicting Little Hiawatha repairing warplane's propeller. Insignia was for the US Army Air Force's 4052 Air Field Maintenance Group Base Unit, a fact noted by small pencil text below art. Circular image area is 6.75" dia. 1940s. Art is by Disney artist Hank Porter (1900-1951), who provided art for many Disney insignias during World War II. This image can be seen in Characters Of Military insignia book on page 202. Sheet is evenly aged and has some scattered handling wear. Art is VF/Exc.
