Item Description
10x13.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish Marvel Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Moon Knight #8, which reprints Moon Knight Vol. 1 #17-18 and was published in Spain by Mundi/Linea Surco in 1983. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing Moon Knight, differing significantly from Marvel's original cover art by Denys Cowan/Joe Jusko, showing two different angles of villain Master Sniper, w/Moon Knight falling, inspired by original comic story. Lower left margin has been signed by the artist. Back of artboard has handwritten "C Luna 8" title at top in pencil. Artboard remains bright, clean and Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish Marvel comic books, featuring one of Marvel's classic characters. Superb and dynamic cover art.
