Item Description
14.5x21-3/8" artboard features pen and ink original art for page 4 of Justice League Of America Vol. 1 #19, published by DC Comics May 1963. Art is by Mike Sekowsky (1923-1989) and was inked by Bernard Sachs (1921-1998) and features five panels, w/Flash and Wonder Woman in battle against their evil dopplegangers. First two panels show Flash pulling his cowl off in an attempt to breathe as his doppleganger creates a vacuum around him, ultimately knocking the real Flash unconscious. Last three panels show Wonder Woman and her doppleganger in mid-air fight, the page ending w/the real Wonder Woman knocked to the ground and trapped in quicksand (which is noted in red pencil at bottom margin). Top margin has "Justice League Of America" title stat w/DC logos at left/right and inked month of publication as well as issue/page numbers. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Some lt. scattered aging and handling wear w/scattered pin holes along left and bottom margins, o/w art remains clean and VF.
