Item Description
25x34" frame with matted 17x28" image in oil on board painted original art. Art depicts Middle-Eastern styled warrior (Balto Fangano) mounted on a six-legged, three-hump camel-like tafpa in desert joust challenge. Art is by Peruvian artist Boris Vallejo, best known for his hyper-representational paintings, which have appeared on the covers of numerous sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks. Subjects of his paintings are typically sword and sorcery gods, monsters, and well-muscled male and female barbarians engaged in battle. This piece was featured as the cover for the Arsen Darnay paperback novel "The Seige Of Faltara" by Ace Books 1978. Trace aging/wear to art. Glass removed from gold frame and art is attached to mat w/masking tape. Not mounted in frame. Art is Exc.
