Item Description
8.5x11". Cover text reads "Telephone Directory of the American Delegation at the Argonaut Conference of the Big Three". Features the names of the leaders of the "Big Three": Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin, as well as the official seals of the United States, the USSR, and the UK. Dated for the expected duration of the conference: February 3-11, 1945. The contents include a list of the officers and the crew of the U.S.S. Implicit, as well as a directory of the American delegation in attendance. Notable names on the directory include Averell Harriman and Alger Hiss, among several others. Also includes a brief description and history of Yalta and the surrounding region. Also included are an ID card and a few photographs belonging to Herbert N. Cohen, a crew member and Cm1C (Carpenter's Mate 1st Class) aboard the U.S.S. Implicit. Photos include two portraits of Cohen, as well as two photos of the Livadia Palace, the location of the conference.  Directory retains all pages, but has even age toning and some tears and chipping on some of the pages, mostly relegated to the crew list and background details on Yalta. Most of the directory pages themselves have only minor edge wear. VF. Photos have some edge wear and fading. Fine/VF. ID card has edge wear and some creasing. VF. A very interesting grouping pertaining to the famed Yalta Conference where the Big Three decided the final phases of the war as well as the plans post-war.
